Gene created his CD for alternative dance/pop/uptempo fans that seem to have a tie to vintage soul disco dance music sounds that contain melodic synth treatments, punchy bass lines and drum break sections. A that sound makes you wanna rock your head from side to side, tap your feet , and sing along with the memorable creatively produced hooks.
Gene finds that the music has reached many age brackets from 10-70. A large audience yes, but in todays society, indie alternative sounds tend to extract the eclectic side of music lovers - globally. Gene does a great job.

Love, To Me Is... takes us through a realness of love lost, laments into the string laden "Went And Got Away," then jazz-ly slips into the super cool dance/house spoken- word track, "The Scattered Eye". In "The One You're With", as a messenger with a message, Gene Brown gives us resounding delivery of voice accompanied by tribal conga calls and gosple/dance guitar strains, beckoning us to know, and "Love The One You're With."
These tracks are solid musically and almost too innocent for words. Strong in lyrics and compositions, this CD shoud make "home-grown artists proud to be indie. Gene's work is a great example of good indie work that can inspire and influence to others who are seeking self expression in postive ways they choose.
